Half Bath Makeover

There's not a whole lot to say about this post.  We ripped down wallpaper, took out that weird divider, replaced the over sized hardware and mirror and added a chair rail.  Here's the before and after:

Meanwhile......

While I was busy redoing the play room, J was busy finishing the wainscoting in the family room.  He also finished his arch where we knocked out a wall.  It's beautiful!!!  Don't mind the mess....

 

I also talked J into installing a chair rail in the half bath.  I have no clue how I want to redo this area and can't decide on a color at all!

I keep my man busy too.  You see, last week I begged J to drag home an old railroad tie for another project.  Here is my inspiration for why I needed and had to have that "heavy ass piece of junk wood" as he calls it....



But I also really really liked the look of these two fireplaces too...






Well, after a heavy debate over breakfast, here is a teaser of what J built for me a few hours later in my semi-formal living room!  I seriously CAN NOT wait for this project to be complete!  It had dramatically changed the living space already so stay tuned.

Half Bath

The other task I finally completed was pulling the wallpaper off our half bath walls along with the other garbage that was hanging in there too.  My husband mixed up a solution of Lysol cleaner and water and sprayed it on the walls to remove the paper.  It worked even faster and better than my steam mop!  With his help, we took the bathroom from this:

The oval contractors mirror I replaced with this thrift-store find for $20.  I haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do with it yet as far as painting and distressing it goes.  I guess I need to figure out what color I'm going to paint the bathroom first.  I just don't know yet!  But I have time as you can see, the trim hasn't been painted white yet either.
